Semester one - Done!!!

I'm free until July 19th from now on! :)
Personally I think I did a pretty good job on my presentation in the end. I went in being nervous but as I spoke I actually forgot about it and really just focused on what I had to say. I'm pretty sure I did good enough in my opinion to stand out more than I would of initially thought but I do regret not saying a few things. I went on about my A1 piece in detail but I think I neglected the A3 supportive evidence a bit unfortunately. I knew what I could of said for it but I do think it's a tad bit late now. Even though I'm a little worried about what result I'm going to get I'm confident it shouldn't be to bad as I visited the ideas of design principles and talked about several ideas I attempted to explore during my presentation. So for now all I can do is wait. But during the holidays I'll try to print screen of my works for all to see. So that'll be coming soon.

Review week - Last Day!

So I've made huge progress that even I personally have grown proud of myself for. But one thing that didn't change while I was working on it was the fact that I've had to adopt yet another late night to get it perfect. Although it's lacking in some areas I've made it to fulfill my expectations of how it should really look in final format. The a3 supportive evidence for my Drawing Machine, Wearable Interface and Reverse Cinema has been finished and glued according to the preset coordinates done up on Indesign on the desktop. My last task however is to go in the morning to print off my A1 project. I went on a mission to print it off but unfortunately, because of my planning I failed to consider the fact that printing isn't open 24/7. But, I'm hoping it'll print off without a problem in the morning. Then it's presentation time! Oh boy. Anywho, I've done what I've needed to, but I'll be up in the morning at 6.50am anyways. I haven't quite planned what to say but I'm pretty sure it'll come to me when the time requires it even if it is for a good 25 mintues.
Personally though if I take a moment to reflect on how I've done on the Summative work thus far, I could have adopted and assigned the time for myself better so I wouldn't have to do any late nights, but I can at least say that my work wasn't too rushed and looks rather presentable in my eyes. I've adopted design principles in my main A1 piece despite the fact I have no knowledge whatsoever with design, but after researching it a bit I did manage to understand a bit as I adopted the principles of proximity with correct assigning of space, and balance by creating a completely symmetrical piece.
The A3 evidence also follows the same balance and proximity rules throughout which becomes a theme for my design wise. Some parts could do with more working however, which I believe would be the text for pretty much all of them, which is kinda a repeat of what I've said before in my previous projects already in my personal opinion.
But as for demonstration and presentation wise I'm confident I can go through with it and it does look like I did put the effort into my work to look for the materials to begin with and to place it down according to personalized coordinates based on what I learned from design principles thus far. Which I did do the work! But it's time to get my rest to make sure I'm ready for the last day of the term. Fingers crossed!

Review Week - Serious Fun Poster

Over the past few days I've managed to adopt a moment here and there out of my schedule to work on the Summative Assessment. With it now being Saturday, I can personally see that I'm going to have to do late nights from here on out straight until Monday already. I have yet to fully finish the A1 poster, and right now all I've managed to done is play with ideas and research how to present it as I only got Indesign to work on my desktop only today having installation problems for creative suite 5 masters collection Friday night. Well, I guess only time can tell how much I can really do. So far though I've got the main design down all that's left is to put it down. As for the supporting evidence I have decided to present that in A3 format while brining in my workings for serious fun in on the presentation day, which are all my sketches from the sketch book. Well, back to project work for me now.

Reverse Cinema : Finished!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to come in yet again for another session but, on request of other members I have confirmed that we did finish our film today with all editing meeting the requirements we set out to achieve. A unique feature I like is the fact that we adopted a narrative feature as our audio during significant parts to signify a transition in change or the happening of something significant. Together, I believe as a group we worked well and I hope we get future chances to work together but for now we've completed a movie that totaled a good 1 gig. Being the last real project of the semester it feels good being able to relax for a moment at least.

Review Week

The first semester is finally drawing it's last moments. But before my opportunity arrives, I first have to accomplish one last task, a Summative Assessment. We were told to summarize our past works and events thus far that brought us here. Unfortunately I couldn't make it in Tuesday to confirm the exact details of what we had to do, but fortunately with a few texts I managed to find out and after reading the brief online I managed to catch up. So we were told to re-create our last four projects in a presentable format and talk about it, for 25 minutes?! Scary concept.. Seeing as I've never had to talk for longer than 3 minutes on the spot before to begin with. I just hope I can manage this task. We have to choose one project to present on to A1 format and the rest as supporting evidence, but regardless we have to do them all. Right now, I'm a bit taken back by the new workload to finish by this week's end seeing as I'm in the first group right smack in the morning, but fortunately not first. My first plan is to do Serious Fun on A1 format seeing as it's the project that I personally enjoyed the most. Fingers crossed?

Reverse Cinema : Editing

Filming went well as we finished early on Wednesday with all the scenes we needed without a problem which was great for us. So we came in Thursday to do all the editing for our film. But as we came in unfortunately, we found out that we were short on film despite having done all the scenes already. The quality also wasn't the best and we were stuck on what we could do to lengthen the film and improve the quality. Coming together we worked on effects to lengthen the film in the hopes that it would be enough and we planned to present just the draft copy of our film tomorrow and create the final copy for hand in and perfect that one. Unfortunately for my sake I can't go in tomorrow to see how the presentation goes but, fingers crossed it all goes well.

Reverse Cinema - Planning & Tutorial

During the start of the week we were requested to turn up for a tutorial at 10am with what we had come up with and so we did just that. Admittedly we swapped ideas halfway so I had two separate storyboards for each one but all the better I guess. So we explained to James what our plan was as he gave his opinion on it and after we heard what he had to say we really gave this some real thought in the end as to why we did everything and what was the purpose for it. So we discussed just that. With new understanding we then decided to set tomorrow as the filming day and we had the perfect location for it to represent each part. We had decided to replace the Scarecrow with a farmer, the Tin-man with a mechanic and the Lion with just a typical insecure guy where the Witch was just a good wife trying to find the right man. And Dorothy was a little boy wanting the perfect family. Simple story following the theme. So I just have to wake up early in the morning and make my way over to the location tomorrow.
